Ann Hopkins received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University; a Canadian Certification, Grades PreK-13 from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada); Master of Education in Elementary Education/Specializing in Reading from Texas Southern University; Master of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision/Mid-Management Certification from Texas Southern University.
Ann’s teaching experience includes Cypress-Fairbanks ISD; Hamilton-Wentworth Board of Education (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada); and Fort Bend ISD. She has been in education for twenty-five years. Presently, she is a member of Fort Bend ISD administration and has been with the district for twenty-two years. Ann has a proven track record with students being successful both on national and state mandated tests. FBISD Board of Trustee, Position 7 will enable Ann to continue her commitment of providing quality education to “all” children regardless of their geographical location. Even though the stakes are high and the challenges at time appear astronomical, working as a team, the impossible becomes possible. Therefore, a vote for ANN HOPKINS is a vote for:

S-smaller class sizes (teacher/student ratio) to promote effective instruction.
Ann’s previous awards and recognitions include: Outstanding Teacher/Educator of the Year (2001-2002) from the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators (HAABE); Teacher of the Year (Fort Bend ISD-campus level); Teacher of the Month (Fort Bend ISD-campus level); 12th Annual Reading Conference Director at Texas Southern University; Fort Bend ISD Excellence Award; and Fort Bend ISD Certification of Recognition for Students Who Learn Differently.
Ann is a member of the following organizations: Texas State Readers’ Association; National Education Association; NAACP and the Texas Association of Professional Educators.
Ann and Andrew (Former NFL/CFL Athlete) are the proud parents of four children: Dr. Alicia Hopkins; Andrew Hopkins, II. (University of Houston Graduate in Finance); Aaric Hopkins (Sophomore at Texas Southern University-Dean’s List); and Ashton Hopkins (Junior Honor Roll Student at Marshall HS).
